Christmas was a little different this year. We gave the kids the choice of waiting until after church Sunday to open/play with their presents. OR emailing Santa to have him come a day early (aka Saturday morning). They voted for Santa coming early!!! (Who is surprised by that?) After we had birthday cake Friday night for Cathryn, we put out cake and cookies and milk for Santa and put the kids to bed. They woke up Saturday morning to a living room full of bikes!!! They were able to play with everything all day, ride their bikes outside, and get on a sugar high with the candy free for all. Sunday we combined with the other group in the building and had just an hour meeting. We came home and played family games, put the younger 2 down for a nap, and I started our turkey dinner. Ken bought a turkey fryer and did the turkey. I did everything else. It was yummy. :) Mom & Dad came over Monday night and stayed over night. We opened presents from them on Monday night and visited Tuesday morning. It was nice to relax on Sunday and focus on the true meaning of Christmas. Without Christ's birth, there would have been no atonement and sacrifice providing everlasting life. I am so thankful for that and the opportunity we have to be reminded of that, especially this time of year.
