We had a great time New Years Eve. We went over to Mike & Alicia Ryan's house. We had jambalaya and the kids had hot dogs. Then, the guys got on the computer. Ken & Mike networked their computers to play Age of Empires, or III as Blake calls it. While they were doing that the kids watched a movie and fell asleep. James is teething and was very fussy, but he eventually went down. After the kids were in bed, Alicia & I watched part of "Baby Momma" only to realize halfway through that it was 10 minutes till midnight. The time went by fast. We corralled the guys into the living room and poured some sparkling cranberry juice. We watched the ball drop, "toasted" to the New Year (which will be full of change for both families), and even though it was late, we weren't that tired. So, we settled in at the table to play Canasta, one of Ken's Christmas presents. None of us knew anything about the game so it was pretty interesting. We played 4 rounds, and the girls beat the guys!!!! WWOOOOHHOOOOO!! That's doesn't happen very often. :o) Anyway, we were there until 2:30am and by the time we got home and the kids settled again, it as past 3am. It was a VERY fun night.
