The birthday weekend started on Friday. Ken had to work nights that week so we had his requested cherry pie a la mode after lunch Friday. The kids had a great time! They decorated paper grocery bags to wrap his presents. We got him a couple of games and a tie. The games were Memoir 44 and a Ticket to Ride expansion. He loved them! Ken's tower shuts down for 2 hours around dinner time. We were able to meet him in Ozark for a Mexican dinner out to celebrate some more.
Tate's birthday was Monday, but Ken told us that he had a special surprise for Monday night. We decided to celebrate his birthday Sunday. In the morning we let him open all his presents and play with them before conference started. He got a tricycle, toddler t-ball set, some puzzles, a new magnetic doodle pad, and a sprinkler.
I made his cake Saturday night. Turned out cute I thought.
It's my party and I'll cry if I want to . . .
Wait, no, it's mine now and no one else is touching it! haha

He liked the sound of it on his head.

YAY!
YUM! CAKE!
See Mom? CAKE! (And then the cake promptly fell off the fork.)
Anxiously awaiting the surprise!!
THERE IT IS!! Ken surprised us with a night out with the lesser Rat! (the bigger Rat being Mickey Mouse.) The kids were SO excited and had so much fun! We got enough tickets combined to get Tate a birthday Slinky. They were wiped out by the time we got home. A great way to complete the birthday weekend! Now to plan for Blake's birthday at the end of the month.
