So Blake is 9 years old now. Pretty insane for me to think about. :) We celebrated on his birthday by going to Dairy Queen for dinner and dessert. Blake doesn't like cake so he opted to have blizzards and ice cream cones. That was fine with me! No cooking and ice cream? Everyone was happy! He opened his presents when we got home. He got Skylanders (a video game that comes with action figures to put it simply) and a frisbee that night.
Blake had a birthday party on the 5th, the Friday after his birthday. He had 4 friends over and 2 stayed the night. The other 2 stayed pretty late. He got a huge water gun, a football, a Skylander to go with what he already had, Pokemon cards, and some things called Bendaroos. We had pizza for dinner, let them play outside, had fruit pizza and a brownie shaped like a Lego. They passed most of the night taking turns playing Blake's new video game and comparing Pokemon cards. It was a surprisingly low key night, for having five 8-9 year old boys, plus our other 3 kids, in one house. No fights, everyone played nice and enjoyed themselves, and no one got sick because of all the junk food.
Happy Birthday Blake! It's been a GREAT 9 years being your parents!!!!
