Happenings

Not much has been happening, but I thought I would do a short update.  Tate went to the after hours clinic (our version of the ER since the Army doesn't have a hospital here @ Humphreys) a couple of weeks ago.  The kids were all goofing off, he lost his balance, and he sliced his lip on the glass top on the coffee table.  We thought it had gone through, but it hadn't.  They gave us Neosporin and sent us home.  A week later he stuck his finger in a fan and sliced it some.  Some NewSkin was applied on a regular basis and he's fine.  A day or two after that James shut one of Tate's fingers in the door and locked the door.  Thankfully Tate's finger was not that far in and he was able to pull it out without any damage, just lots of screaming.  He's fine and is getting tougher with having 3 older siblings manhandling him on a regular basis.  I'm sure he will be as glad as I am for school to start.

James is doing better at potty training.  Hopefully we'll be able to keep going.  He's working on his colors and can recognize most of his ABCs.  His attention span is quite short as he would rather be running around than sitting doing anything.

Blake & Cathryn have all of their school supplies, school clothes have been ordered online, and we're all awaiting the day that we can go meet their teachers and start school.  School starts August 29th and hopefully we'll be able to survive until then.

Ken has started his paperwork for leaving here.  We have 88 more days (as of Aug 9th) before our DEROS date.  We have applied for housing online.  Ken is working on getting his leave form taken care of because that is the only thing the housing office needs.  They have all the other paperwork.  We have official orders to Fort Rucker, but we do not know what unit he will be in for sure yet.  The next thing on our list, after the leave form, is scheduling a date for pick up for our household goods to be shipped back to the states.  Things are moving to get us out of here.  I'm glad they're moving and we're all looking forward to being back in the states.  That's the news.  Until next time. . .
