Back to School

Well, it's fall.  That means it's time for school.  We started school way later than ever before.  Blake started school on August 30th.  He is now in second grade and loving it.  He has an awesome teacher.  I feel confident that she will push him when he needs a good shove to get up to the potential we all know he has.  He's already started learning things he's never learned about before.  It's so fun to see his face light up when he understands something.  Or when he does not have to take a spelling test on Friday because he passed the pre-test 100%.  He's such a smart kid and I can't wait to see what else he learns this year!

Cathryn started kindergarten this year.  She started school on September 7th.  Her teacher and class aide came by for a home visit Blake's first day of school.  They took a picture of us (minus Blake) and gave us some information/paperwork.  She was so excited to go back to school!  She missed her PreK class in Florida.  She has already been a big helper and is out of her shell.  The school has already had their first open house.  Cathryn was unusually quiet when we got there.  Her teachers said that was totally unheard of because she is usually very talkative.  There is a little boy who speaks mainly Spanish that Cathryn helps.  Cathryn is learning more Spanish and he is learning more English.  Cathryn can understand him when other people can't.  Maybe she has her uncle's language gift.  :)  She's having fun making new friends and learning!
